BFCC held a highly successful community event on Monday 29th March at Daceyville Public School to launch the Transition to School Playgroup.
Over 60 people attended the launch.
Daceyville Public School and Botany Family & Children’s Centre are working in partnership to implement the Transition to School Playgroup collaborating with the Schools, Health & Community Initiative.
The aim of the program is to support the development and confidence that children need when starting school.
The program aims to support children’s literacy, mathematical awareness, social competence, independence and confidence within their learning.
It reflect a holistic approach in which the child, family, educators and school work together to achieve positive outcomes.
We respect and acknowledge the diversity and inclusion of each child and family underpinning the program’s best practice.
The successful program launch included:
- Variety of play activities and craft experiences for the children, including Easter hat making and plaster painting
- Easter Egg hunt
- Information table with resources about Transition to School
- Show bags for all families
- Lucky Door prize
- Information table on Dental Health
Sally Ann [Deputy School Principal] mentioned how welcoming the event was, how inviting the hall looked, and how engaged the families were.
